Pride of our Footscray appears in Time Out’s global editors’/writers’ roundup of the world’s greatest queer venues.

Critical usage constraint

The list is UNRANKED. No numbering, no hierarchy — framing is “some of the world’s greatest queer venues” / editors’ “favourite queer venues”. Venues appear alphabetically within each city. Pride’s position in page order (eighth) is not a ranking: any “eighth best queer venue in the world” claim is unsupportable and must not be published or repeated to press. Mat drafted this phrasing on 2026-07-22 and Shae is informing him of the correction.

Approved phrasing (brand-voice §10 register): “named one of the world’s greatest queer venues by Time Out in 2026”.

Entry text (verbatim)

Pride of our Footscray is a community-run LGBTQIA+ space founded by more than 200 part-owners, who each made an investment. As well as being a relaxed, inclusive bar, it also acts as a performance space and nightclub, providing local drag artists and musos a place to build names for themselves.

Note: Time Out independently states “more than 200 part-owners” — an external source for the shareholder count if ever needed (site copy standardises on “around 200”).
